Background

An established real estate agency with a strong local reputation, covering sales and property management. Its website pulls every listing automatically from the agency's CRM, through a feed built by a previous web provider.

The agency came to MGS Co for SEO and technical support. Within days it was clear the listing feed was the urgent problem.

Challenge

The website rarely matched what agents had entered. Hidden sold prices showed online, sold and leased homes stayed up as available, "Under Contract" labels never appeared and hidden addresses showed in full.

On top of that, new listings stopped arriving, listing pages broke after a hosting move and the site sometimes wouldn't load. The problems had been going on for far too long.

Our approach

01
Trace every fault to its cause

Read the raw feed files against the plugin code. The common thread: the feed ignored the CRM's display settings, so hidden details came through anyway.

02
Fix the code, not the listing

Documented fixes for hidden prices, under-offer status and hidden addresses, plus a fix for crashing sold pages. Each one also corrected the listings already on the site.

03
Make the platform stable

Moved hosting, cleared the storage fault that blocked new listings, fixed the loading timeouts and set every listing to refresh its own page when it syncs.
